Chained Soldier Season 2: I’m Thrilled, But 2026 Is Too Far Away!

I’m still buzzing from Chained Soldier. I got hooked last year, late one night, when I was looking for something to distract me after a rough day. I’d just finished Jujutsu Kaisen and needed a new obsession. That’s when I found Yuuki Wakura on HIDIVE—chained up, thrown into a chaotic world of demons and powerful women, fighting for survival. The action, the tension, the steamy dynamics—it was exactly what I needed. Season 1’s finale left me on edge, with Yuuki and Kyoka’s bond deepening and new threats looming. Now, in May 2025, I’ve been glued to my phone, refreshing X for Season 2 news. And I’ve got something to share! I’m excited, but also kind of annoyed. Let’s get into it.

Where We Left Off: Demons, Chains, and Unfinished Fights

Chained Soldier—or Mato Seihei no Slave—kicked off in January 2024 with 12 episodes, wrapping up in March. It’s based on Takahiro and Yohei Takemura’s manga, which has been running on Shonen Jump+ since 2019, with 17 volumes out as of now. The story’s insane: demonic gates spawn monsters called Shūki, and only women with powers from a magical peach tree can fight them. Yuuki, our unlucky hero, gets dragged into this by Kyoka Uzen, the fierce leader of the 7th Anti-Demon Squad. He becomes her “slave,” transforming into a weapon to fight by her side. It’s action-packed, with a side of spicy tension that keeps you hooked.

The finale got me. It stopped around Chapter 44 of the manga, leaving Yuuki and Kyoka stronger than ever but with so much unresolved. I keep thinking about that moment when Yuuki powers up, Kyoka’s commanding voice driving him forward—it was epic. The manga’s got tons more to adapt. Starting from Chapter 45, the stakes get higher, with new characters and darker lore about the gates. I’m dying to see this animated. Studio Passione, I’m counting on you!

Season 2 Is Happening—But Why So Late?

Here’s the big news: Chained Soldier Season 2 is confirmed! I found this on Anime News Network, straight from the Anime Japan 2025 event on March 23, 2025. They announced it during Pony Canyon’s stage, even dropping a new key visual featuring Ren Yamashiro, the head of the Magic Defense Force, alongside Kyoka, Tenka Izumo, and Yuuki in slave mode. Ren’s a major player in the manga, and she’s voiced by Kana Hanazawa—perfect casting! But here’s the part that’s got me frustrated: it’s not coming until 2026. A whole year away! I’m happy, but also—why so long?

Studio Passione is leading production this time, with Hayabusa Film co-producing. Masafumi Tamura is directing, and Keiya Nakano’s handling character design. I’m a huge fan of Passione’s work—they did an amazing job with Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf—so I know the visuals will be stunning. The cast is back too: Yuya Hirose as Yuuki, Akari Kito as Kyoka, and Maaya Uchida as Tenka. It’s all lining up perfectly, except for that 2026 release date. I can’t wait that long!

Why the Delay? I’m Trying Not to Lose It

I’m struggling here. Season 1 ended in March 2024, and now we’re waiting two years for Season 2. What’s going on? I’ve got some thoughts, and I’m not thrilled.

  • Studio Switch: Passione taking over from Seven Arcs might be slowing things down. New team, new process—it’s a lot. But two years? Come on!
  • Busy Schedule: Passione has other projects, like Loner Life in Another World. Are they stretched too thin? I need them focused on Chained Soldier!
  • Industry Delays: I’ve seen this before. ScreenRant mentioned Chainsaw Man—its first season ended in 2022, and fans are waiting until after a 2025 movie for more. Delays are normal, but they still suck.

Fans on X are hyped but frustrated too. I saw some posts praising the new key visual, calling it “fire” and loving Ren’s design. Others are just as annoyed as I am about the wait. Season 1 had some animation hiccups that got criticism online, so maybe Passione is taking extra time to get it right. I get it—but I’m impatient!

What’s Next for Season 2? I Can’t Wait to See This

Season 2 should pick up from Chapter 45, diving into the next arc. The manga gets intense—more about the demonic gates, the Magic Defense Force’s secrets, and Ren Yamashiro’s role as a major player. Her dynamic with Kyoka is going to be electric—I can feel it. Yuuki’s growth is a big focus too; he’s starting to embrace his role as Kyoka’s “slave,” but there’s drama with the other squads. The battles are going to be insane, and I’m counting on Passione to make those Shūki fights look brutal.

I keep imagining a scene where Kyoka and Ren clash, Yuuki stuck in the middle, demonic energy everywhere. The manga’s art is so good—I need Passione to bring that to life. And yeah, the fan service. It’s a big part of the show, and X fans are already buzzing about more “steamy” moments in Season 2. I’m ready for it.

Keeping the Hype Alive Until 2026

I’m not handling this wait well. 2026 feels so far away. Here’s how I’m holding on:

  • Rewatching Season 1: It’s on HIDIVE, uncensored, and I’m reliving every second. Episode 8—Kyoka and Yuuki’s first big team-up—still hits hard.
  • Reading the Manga: Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ has it, or you can grab the volumes. Volume 17 just came out. Start at Chapter 45 to get ready for Season 2.
  • Staying Connected: X is where it’s at—follow @mabotai_kohobu for updates. Tag them, show some love, maybe we’ll get a trailer sooner!

2026 Can’t Come Soon Enough!

I’m so happy Chained Soldier Season 2 is coming—Ren’s debut, the returning cast, Passione’s visuals—it’s going to be amazing. But 2026? I’m dying here. This show got me through some tough days, gave me something to obsess over, and now I’m stuck waiting again. The manga’s sold over 2 million copies, fans are loud, and Season 1 did well on HIDIVE. So why the wait, Passione? I need more of Yuuki and Kyoka, more battles, more of this crazy world.

Are you feeling the wait as much as I am? Let’s make some noise—hit up X, tag @mabotai_kohobu, and show Passione we’re ready. Stream Season 1 on HIDIVE, dive into the manga, and let’s keep the hype going. Chained Soldier Season 2, I’ll be waiting for you in 2026!
